Quicksands are a type of semi-lethal hazard in the HTFA series, often found in desert levels. If a tree friend falls into one, he/she will begin to sink into the bottom until he/she dies. You can avert this fate by mashing the jump button to keep the poor tree friend from sinking and hopefully jump out from the quicksand to safety.
